Premio UVM por el Desarrollo Social / The UVM Award for Social Development
Premio UVM por el Desarrollo Social / The UVM Award for Social Development, was launched in 2006 as a pilot initiative for future national institutes of the International Youth Foundation’s Global YouthActionNet™ awards program for social entrepreneurs.With funding from the Sylvan/Laureate Foundation and the Universidad del Valle de México, the UVM Award for Social Development created a university-based model for other YouthActionNet™ national institutes at Laureate institutions (Universidade Anhembi Morumbi and Universidad Europea de Madrid) and the International Youth Foundation’s other partner organizations in Israel, Jordan, and Australia.
To date, this program has honored and provided 60 young leaders from Mexico City and 31 Mexican states the following:
- Public recognition at awards ceremonies in landmark locations, such as the Museo Nacional de Antropología and the Polyforum Siqueiros
- Cash awards of $2,000
- Training sessions of topics relevant to their work, such as public relations, fundraising, and teamwork
- Access to a global network of YouthActionNet™ alumni
